This film was the choice of the winner of Midnight at the Baxter’s Halloween costume contest. Excellent choice contest winner, excellent choice indeed. Sometimes when you weren’t around when a movie that has become legendary first came out the movie just can’t live up to the hype. Obviously that’s not the case here. I was [...]

Friends, I love this movie. Considering how much I usually dislike Jim Carrey movies that is a serious accomplishment.
This is two years in a row that Midnights at the Baxter have featured a movie I absolutely love for Valentine’s Weekend (last year it was Amelie). Well done Baxter Avenue, well done.

Did I tell you about the really wonderful chosen family Thanksgiving we had? We went to some beloved friends’ house for a great potluck filled with really excellent food, conversation and laughter. The daughter of one of those beloved friends, a very cool young woman in her early 20s, was with us at Thanksgiving and [...]

My bedtime seems to be inching closer and closer to 9PM these days so sadly I don’t make it to many editions of Midnights at the Baxter. I’ll be overloading on sleep for a week so I can stay up to watch Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind when they show it for Valentine’s day [...]

The Muppet Movie. Say it out loud: The Muppet Movie. Didn’t that make you smile, just saying it? I think The Muppet Movie makes everything a little bit better.
The Muppet Movie is the first half of the Jim Henson double feature that Midnights at the Baxter is showing this weekend. The second half is [...]

I’ve actually seen this movie but it’s been so long I remember very little of it. I think I’m too much of a chicken to go see it in the [...]

I’m just not a person who enjoys being scared so I’ll be skipping this week’s installment of Midnights at the Baxter. Next week though I just might venture out because they’re showing Beetlejuice! But back to this week, if you’re interested in seeing The Exorcist I’m sure you already know all about it but if [...]

In the light of Roman Polanski being arrested last week is it timely that Midnights at the Baxter is showing one of his best known films or creepy? Since this is part of their Horror Through the Decades series creepy would be an appropriate description right?
From our friends at wikipedia:“Rosemary’s Baby is a 1968 [...]
