Are you aware that there’s a thing called “The Young Filsonians” associated with the Filson Society? I wasn’t until they asked me to write about their event this tomorrow night. While the event is interesting (I’ll give you the details on it in a moment) I’m more interested in “The Young Filsonians.” Specifically I’m wishing I’d known about it a long time ago because it sounds like something I would have enjoyed being involved with before getting to the last stages of the “young professional” category.
The Young Filsonians are a group of young professionals (21-45) who share a passion for our regional history and want to help The Filson tell its significant stories in relevant and innovative ways. Designed to challenge and engage a contemporary audience, The Young Filsonians work with The Filson staff and Board of Directors to ensure that the history of Louisville and the Ohio Valley remains meaningful to our community. Admission to the Young Filsonians is open to all.
The Young Filsonians are hosting a Halloween themed event tomorrow Thursday October 25, 2012 at 7:30PM.
