My friend Bonnie (hi Bonnie!) told me about a new vegan bakery she encountered last week at the Whole Foods farmers market. It’s called Half-Peach Bakery and it’s a mother/daughter outfit currently selling their wares at the Whole Foods farmers market on Wednesday afternoons and the Rainbow Blossom farmers market on Sundays. After Bonnie told me about them I reached out to Half-Peach to just find out a little bit more about them and their baked goods.
We’ve been vegans for a long time and for years we’ve just enjoyed what we’ve baked at home, but knew a lot of people who were also interested in having baked treats that didn’t contain eggs or dairy, so eventually decided to share what we made and start a business.
Our Chocolate Chip Cookies and Apple Cakes have been quite popular amongst our friends for a long time and at the market, but we’ve started making gluten-free cookies as well and plan to offer more products like brownies and cinnamon buns very soon! Right now we’re really focusing on making classic cakes and pastries as delicious and comforting as possible while using seasonal ingredients!
The Whole Foods market takes place on Wednesdays from 3PM-7PM
The Rainbow Blossom market (St. Matthews location) takes place on Sundays from 12PM-4PM
