“Food For Thought” the Louisville Visual Art Association’s monthly lunch and learn gathering this month features a business that is dear to my heart, Hound Dog Press. You’ll recall how much I love Hound Dog’s work so I have no doubt this will be a cool talk.
Owned and operated by Nick Baute and Robert Ronk, Hound Dog Press is a full service letterpress shop located at 309 East Market Street (Suite 103) in Louisville, KY. Nick and Robert met at the University of Kentucky where they both earned their Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Printmaking. After graduating, Nick moved to New York where he worked at renowned Bowne & Co. Stationers, a unique 19th century letterpress shop.
In 2004, Nick started doing his own commissions under the Hound Dog Press name. He moved back to Kentucky where Robert joined him to open their doors. They are currently located downtown Louisville at 309 East Market Street.
