I’d heard this news a while ago but wanted to wait until it was “official” to share. The Heine Brothers location on Shelbyville Road is closing this Friday, March 30, 2012. The tiny little shop (that I’m quite fond of because of its tiny-ness) is being relocated less than a mile down the road, between the Fiat dealership and Liquor Barn. If you’ve driven by that spot recently you know there is not currently a Heine Brothers building in that location. Never fear though, Shelbyville Road will not be without Heine Brothers during the construction of the new shop.
we have spent many nights and weekends gutting a 1963 Airstream and making it the best mobile coffee shop ever! We are parking the Airstream on the corner of Shelbyville Road and Fairmeade Road, between Swope Fiat and Liquor Barn (only 1/2 mile away from the current HBC-Shelbyville Road) for the spring & summer. We are really excited to show off our Airstream – it should open Monday April 2 at 6am!
Airstream coffee shop? That’s pretty awesome. I think it also means that after the new shop opens (the current estimate is that it will open late this summer) the airstream will probably be making its way to festivals, events and food truck gatherings around town. I like that idea.
The new shop is going to be much larger than the tiny shop that’s closing and it will have a “more convenient” drive thru.
