Second Hand Stories: Skipping Fish Boat School

Second Hand Stories

I am so very excited to tell you about a project that Kertis Creative and Consuming Louisville have teamed up on called Second Hand Stories.

Second Hand Stories was conceived from the belief that no matter what type of work fills our days, we as people intrinsically value and crave the process of creation. The video series shares the stories of those who have repurposed their life in order to become craftspeople and ‘hand workers.’ Over the course of the next year we hope to spend time with the uncovered many in Louisville and beyond that are working their hardest to make life more delightful.

Basically some of the most talented and creative people in Louisville are making short documentaries about other talented and creative people in Louisville who make amazing things. I get to contribute a few ideas to the project and publish those documentaries here. I’m a lucky girl.

The first in this series is about Skipping Fish Boat School. I highly recommend that you click through and watch it in full screen mode.

We’re working on the second film in the series now and I’m just in love with the work of the artisans who are the subject. You’re going to love it too, I just know it.
