Super Bowl not your thing? How about really interesting documentaries? The Trilliquin Center (on Bardstown Road near the new North End Cafe Highlands location) is hosting a movie night this Sunday, February 5, and they’ll be screening a film called Wasteland.
The event is free but a donation of $5 is suggested and the screening starts at 6PM.
Wasteland is an amazing true story tells of a successful artist who visits Rio de Jenero and the people who have built their lives around the largest landfill in the world. With their help, he creates amazing art (using trash from the landfill) and sells it for tens of thousands of dollars. Giving the money to the trash workers, he changes the course of their lives.
Donations will go to the Louisville Visual Art Association’s Open Doors program. It is an umbrella program of classes and art enrichment experiences designed to give a voice to under-served populations including the at-risk youth, refugees and immigrants, senior citizens, victims of domestic abuse and more.
