I got a press release this morning giving a bit of information about a new restaurant coming to East Market in a couple months. I’m a little excited about this place because it’s possible that in a few weeks I’ll be spending a whole lot of time down on East Market and the more awesome food places there are the better for me.
Dishes at Ghyslain on Market range from $6 for 12 ounces of house made soup with grilled baguette to $12 for a variety of sandwiches served with a side dish. Specialties include the Croque Monsieur Panini ($10); Pan Bagnat Nicoise ($11); and Chicken Curry Panini ($12). Breakfast will feature French-style baked eggs ($8) as well as steel cut oatmeal with fresh fruit ($6); granola with fresh fruit and yogurt ($6); and a variety of croissants ($2 – $8). Side dishes ($4), salads ($8-$11) and a cheese and charcuterie plate ($12) will also be offered. Chef Ghyslain Maurais’ signature artisan chocolates, pastries and gelato will be available to savor in the restaurant or for takeout. All pastries are artfully presented with intricate chocolate decorations, and chocolates are available in gift boxes.
And oh my, breakfast! Croissants, baked eggs and hopefully pan au chocolat, oh goodness. And they are going to open at 7AM so there will be plenty of time to grab breakfast there before work. Exciting!
