I had lunch with some awesome folks from LVL1 at Third Avenue Cafe yesterday. It’s the first time I’ve been there in ages, I’m not really sure why, I think it’s because the last time I went there I very nearly had a conniption fit from trying to park but yesterday parking was easy peasy. Anyway, back to to my point, which is for the first time in all my visits to Third Avenue Cafe I ordered something besides the black bean burger. The black bean burger is absolutely delicious but I decided to be bold and try the Barbecue Tofu Sandwich and I’m really glad I did. Here’s the menu description:
Lightly fried, firm tofu marinated with in our house barbeque sauce on homemade focaccia dressed with lettuce, tomato, and red onion.
I meant to take a picture of my sandwich but I ate it all before I remembered. Oops. For a side dish I had the vegan honey mustard cashew cole slaw. It was pretty good but next time I think I’ll go back to my beloved wheatberry soybean salad. Of course if fries are more your think one of the awesome things about Third Avenue Cafe is that they fry their vegan items in a totally separate fryer so you can be sure your vegan fries are, well, in fact vegan.
