I just want to give a nod of appreciation to SoupByCycle. Yesterday I was a pansy and didn’t leave my house at all. I took a few steps off my front porch and very nearly broke a leg on the skating rink that was the walk to my driveway so I decided working from home was a better plan. But did SoupByCycle’s chef Ian take a
snow ice day? Nope.
At lunchtime a tasty bowl of soup and a delicious roll (some sort of pretzel loaf thing) from Blue Dog Bakery showed up on my porch. I’m super impressed that deliveries were made and people were fed tasty soup in the yuck that was yesterday’s roads.
For the Christmas holiday SoupByCycle is taking the week off so you’ve got an extra to week to get yourself signed up. Go ahead and do like we’ve done which is to sign up for a monthly “soup-scription.” I have no doubt you’ll be glad you did. Leave a cooler on your porch on the appointed day and when you get home from work supper will be waiting for you to heat up. It will be delicious, made with good fresh ingredients with love and care.
The commercial kitchen Chef Ian works out of is super close to my house and I’m serious when I tell you that it gives me a bolt of joy each time I see him and his bike and trailer rig going down the street. He’s doing a cool thing and providing us some really good food in the process. I’m a fan.
