Melissa at The Makery tipped me off about a new business coming to Shnitzelburg and then the business owner, Daniel, was nice enough to give me the scoop on Greenhaus himself. It sounds like a really cool new retail addition for our city.
Here’s Daniel explaining:
Greenhaus is a retail store my parents and I are opening this coming Tuesday, November 9th. We plan on having a Grand Opening the day after thanksgiving in order to give us some time to work out any kinks. The store is what like to call a “plant. wine. home” store. Were carrying around 55 different wines and a small select amount of liquor. 99% of our wine and liquor is from the smaller distributors (vintner, vanguard, cutting edge and bryant). With a large focus on selected $11 and under bottles for wine.
The plants were starting out with are for the indoors, it is November and all ha, but we want to focus on small vegetable and flower gardening come spring. We have pots from a local potter by the name of Alex Adams. You can also get fresh cut flowers.
The “home” items are exactly that. Couches, tables, chairs, candles (votivo), lamps etc. We hope to grow this part of it and get some good vintage and local made item consigners in here.
To go along with the “home” part of it were also using our walls as an art gallery. One artist at a time for two months each with the focus being on modern art. Stephen Dorsett is our first artist and we have 13 of his pieces up.
Were also carrying cheeses, chocolates, olives and little meats to go with the wine. We will also be putting together gift boxes.
And what do you know? Today is November 9. Swing by after work and pick up a bottle of wine for dinner and let us know what you think of Greenhaus.
