Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy. So. Excited! I’ve been a fan of Kickstarter for quite a while now. I’ve “backed” (that is to say I’ve given money to) projects as diverse as The Comic Torah and an independent film. Now there’s a Louisville based project that I practically tripped over myself because I was trying to back it so quickly. What is that project? Helping a young vegan chef make his dream of a vegan food truck come to life here in Louisville.
Creative, totally non-boring vegan food in Louisville? Yes! Coming from a truck in different parts of town? Hell yes!
Yes, the project is asking for a good chunk of change ($12K) but getting a truck, getting it ready, getting permits, etc isn’t cheap. And I truly believe that a volunteer investment in this project is an investment in Louisville and specifically in Louisville’s food scene. Even if vegan food isn’t your thing, even if street food isn’t your thing, if you’re proud of Louisville’s food scene at all you have to be pleased to see new and creative food options coming to town.
I have got to tell you that I’m going to be really disappointed if the community doesn’t pull together and make this Kickstarter project a success. Let’s make this happen Louisville.
