I don’t know if there is a single neighborhood in the city that is more neighborhood-minded than Germantown-Schnitzelburg. These folks love their neighborhood, go out of their way to show it and support the businesses in their midst. Latest evidence? The Germantown-Schnitzelburg Pub Club.
The Germantown-Schnitzelburg Pub Club is a group that is committed to supporting independent businesses in the Germantown and Schnitzelburg areas by getting together to spend some money and drink some beer at neighborhood establishments. Meetings are held at a different location each time. Bars and restaurants that support the Schnitzelburg Area Community Council or the Germentown neighborhood association are given priority. The first two meetings took place at The Zeppelin Café and Pauly’s Schnitzelburg Pub, respectively. The next meeting is on August 13 at T. Eddie’s at 1154 Logan Street.
The Germantown-Schnitzelburg Pub Club meets on the second Friday of each month at 7:30 p.m. President Nadine LePore keeps things on schedule and sends reminders, but the gatherings are totally casual and everyone is invited. To get involved, simply join the Facebook page to receive updates.
So mark your calendars for August 13 to go out and meet some fine Germantown-Schnitzelburg folks and enjoy an adult beverage or two. Summer is good in Louisville.
