The 2010 Flyover Film Festival is this weekend.

The 2010 FFF program includes ten feature-length films and a slate of short films, all selected by the Louisville Film Society board. 2010 FFF will also feature a short film screening, awards ceremony, and a Youth Media Summit for high school students. Festival activities include film screenings, filmmaker Q&A’s, a filmmaker reception and an after-party.
As best as I can tell all the events for the Flyover Film Festival are taking place at the Kentucky Center.
Update: Someone dropped me a note to let me know that not all the events are at the Kentucky Center:
the closing film, “Winter’s Bone” is actually being held at Baxter Avenue Theater on Sunday, June 13th and not at the Kentucky Center. All other films are at the KY Center.
“Winter’s Bone,” starring Louisville native Jennifer Lawrence, is based on a 2006 novel of the same title by Daniel Woodrell and depicts the struggles of a teenage girl (Lawrence) who fights to keep her family together as she faces incredible obstacles to search for her drug-dealing, fugitive father in southern Missouri.
The June 13 event at Baxter Avenue Theatre includes 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. screenings with a cocktail reception in Mid-City Mall beginning at 6:30 between the showings. Ms. Lawrence is speaking about the film after both screenings as well as attending the cocktail reception. Tickets to a screening and the reception are $40. Tickets may be purchased at http://www.village8.com/comingsoon.htm and click the ‘buy tickets’ link under the “Winter’s Bone” movie poster.
The proceeds from this event will benefit Bellewood, a nonprofit serving abused, at-risk and homeless youth across Kentucky. Ms. Lawrence and the Louisville Film Society collaborated to support Bellewood because of our Youth Film Festival as well as the similarities between the storyline of “Winter’s Bone” and the hardships our clients face.
