Fact: An 82 year old biking around Louisville is awesome.
Fact: Despite all the improvements Louisville has made for cyclists over the past few years we’ve still got a long way to go. People don’t pay enough attention to or give enough respect to cyclists on our roads.
With that out of the way I want to share the story of Ms. Gay Windsor with you:
Gay Windsor is 82 years young. She rides her bicycle from her home in Old Louisville to Greentree Mall in Southern Indiana. She rides to Robbens Roost to roller skate for a couple of hours before returning home on her bike. But Ms. Windsor can tell you that riding a bicycle isn’t always as safe as it should be. Motorists often don’t look out for cyclists. She recently had a shocking experience at an intersection downtown:
Head on over to Pedalaround to get the rest of the story and please share the road and support bicycling on our streets and in our city.

Even bike-lanes are still scary in Louisville. I see car doors fly open all the time, right in the lane.

Agreed Dave.
