Happy Hour at the Frazier Museum with the Kentucky Opera

As I write this it’s snowing. Not the snowpacaplypse that every weather person this side of the Mississippi predicted but enough to irritate me. Particularly since B was rear ended this morning going to work because somebody decided to do a u-turn on Broadway that caused a change of events that left the car behind her sliding into her. She’s fine, the car is fine but bad drivers and winter are on my grudge list for the day.

So what possibly could make yucky January better? Free booze and food. Sadly the free booze and food I’m about to tell you about don’t start flowing at the Frazier Musuem until January 21 but we all need something to look forward to right?

Join us for drinks and hors d’oeuvres to celebrate Black History Month through song. Kentucky Opera Studio Artists will perform Oh Freedom!, taking you through the cultural history of African Americans from pre-slavery to modern times, including the world premiere of a new composition by Harry Pickens based on one of President Obama’s recent speeches. Enjoy Brown-Forman wines, BBC Beer and snacks from Proof on Main.

Free Admission. Drinks and hors d’oeuvres provided.

Access to all museum galleries begins at 5 p.m., with a brief performance from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m.

Every Thursday from January 21-February 11, 2010.

Brought to you by the Fund for the Arts.
