It’s time for the first Friday November 2009 edition. In addition to the Louisville Beer Store opening tonight the other thing that caught my eye is the mention of Boudreaux’s, the new creole place that recently opened on Main Street. First, any mention of the word “Boudreaux” must be followed with a link to an awesome scene featuring the best Boudreax ever: Ouiser Boudreaux. Now that that’s taken care of we can move on.
I enjoy creole food (well the creole food that I can find that doesn’t contain shellfish or pork) so I’m really curious about Boudreaux’s. For First Friday tonight they’ve got the follow stuff going on:
- Chateau de Piqué wine tasting
- Bourbon tasting
- Dumanté Liquer tasting
- Card readings
- Kristopher Twist will be displaying his unique Downtown Building Art series
- Signature drinks and “Creole inspired cuisine with hometown flair”
While I’m quite interested in Boudreaux’s I’m not going to be able to check it out for a while. You see B and I are buying a house and buying a house takes a lot of money. We are currently in “don’t spend a single penny on anything other than absolute necessities” mode. We’re scraping together every nickel we can for downpayment and closing costs. That means no eating out for a while which means I won’t be able to try new and new-ish places for a while. So I’m asking for your help in two ways:
- If you check out new places please drop me a line with a mini report on it so I can at least pass basic information on to folks. Boudreaux’s? Potstickers? Louisville Beer Store? Etc.
- If you’ve ever even remotely considered purchasing advertising on Consuming Louisville now would be such a great time to actually do it. I would in fact be eternally grateful and you’d have lots of smart, interesting Louisville folks seeing your ad.
