LGDA 100 Show Call for Entries and Pre-Show

September 29, 2009

Art, Design

I’m one of those people who has absolutely no design talent but really enjoys and appreciates good design. That’s why I dig a lot of the LGDA’s programming even though, obviously, I’m not in the graphic design field.

The Louisville Graphic Design Association (LGDA) is now accepting entries for the 20th Annual 100 Show, a juried competition that awards the top 100 pieces of design in the city and region. The public is invited to view all the entries prior to judging at the Pre-Show, which will be held on Thursday, October 15th at 6:00pm at the Mellwood Arts Center, 1860 Mellwood Avenue. The evening will include a cash bar and hors d’oeuvres provided by the Wiltshire Pantry, as well as presentations by this year’s panel of esteemed judges, who are Jack Gernsheimer of Partners Design in Bernville, PA, Parker Channon of Duncan/Channon in San Francisco, and Noah Scalin of ALR Design in Richmond, VA. The Pre-Show is free for LGDA members, $10 for non-members, and $5 for students. Winning entries will be displayed at The Speed Art Museum for the 20th Annual 100 Show Awards Ceremony on Friday, December 4th and on the LGDA website www.lgda.org.

So if you are a designer be sure to enter the 100 Show and if you’re not but you appreciate good design mark your calendars for the Pre-Show on Thursday October 15.

Before our judges select the 100 best pieces of design in the region, you’ll get to see every 100 Show submission at the Pre-show. Come see the work at 6pm and at 7pm see presentations given by our esteemed 100 Show Judges.
