Just so you know the bake sale for the library is totally on. There may be two of them (one during lunch, one in the evening) both on Wednesday August 26, 2009. I’ll have more details on that tomorrow. In the meantime Consuming Louisville reader Kim sent me the link to the list of needed items for Metro Animal Services. Let’s not talk about the poor animals who died during the flood because then I’ll cry and I’m oh so ugly when I cry (red face, puffy eyes, the whole bit).
Metro Animal Services is making it super easy for you to help them by having such a detailed list and having donation drop off points at every Feeder’s around the city. I drive past a Feeder’s to and from work every day so I’m going to stop by this afternoon on the way home and buy some stuff off the list and handily enough just leave it at the Feeder’s location.
List of Items Needed for Metro Animal Services Common Medical Items Office Equipment and Appliances Items can be brought to the shelter at 3705 Manslick Monetary donations can be made online or mailed to: Metro Animal Services
Rd. or to any Feeders Supply Location (large items should be brought to
the shelter). Please note, donations are no longer being accepted at the fairgrounds!

The list has already changed a teeny bit–following the given link will get you to the updated list with most needed items bolded. Also new to the list are box fans, scrub brushes, a chainsaw, a weedeater, and a pressure washer. Thanks so much for posting this, Michelle!
