Here’s something I love about social media. I got a really nice email from one of the folks behind the Kentucky Music Weekend. With the email she sent me a standard press release that reads, well, like a press release and we all know how I don’t really love press releases. But the email? The email was filled with her passion for this event and really told me what it’s about. So instead of sharing a paragraph from the press release with you I’m sharing her email.
In 2000, KMW was voted by the state legislature “Kentucky’s Premier Folk Festival”. We try to bring great acoustic musicians to the Amphitheater each July, with music of string bands, singer-songwriters, bluegrass, blues, and a little jazz – all celebrating Kentucky-style music!
We’re not selling tickets this year…we’re asking for a $10 “suggested donation” so if someone is on hard times and can’t afford it, they can still come. We’re also accepting food donations for Dare To Care Food Bank.
Artists are paid this year by gate donations. Many are coming quite a distance to be here!
