Cabaret & Yoga & Art Oh My!

July 14, 2009

Art, Downtown

21c has some new and interesting interactive art programming for the summer. I’m neither artistically talented enough nor flexible enough to attend either program but I’m pretty sure you are so you should go and tell me all about it.

Cabaret Life Drawing
Led by instructor Skylar Smith, Cabaret Life Drawing is an evening of provocative inspiration. An array of models – from burlesque starlets to ballerinas, magicians to fetish models, circus contortionists to costumed showgirls – will perform and pose for the audience to sketch. Just $10 at the door, attendees should being their own easel & drawing board with sketchbook and drawing supplies. Charcoal is recommended. Space is limited, so arrive early to ensure your spot.

Yoga with Art (BYOM (bring your own mat)
Flex those creative muscles as you work through a variety of ancient poses. Sessions are just $5 at the door and are led by Skylar Smith. The sessions will also feature special guest instructors each week. Attendees should bring their own mat or towel and water and arrive early to ensure a spot because space is limited.

Hey Michelle. Thanks again for sharing these 21C happenings. I have a friend that has done yoga for a decade. He said the class last weekend at 21C was the best 90-minutes he’s ever had. Probably the combination of the instructor’s passion and the art-filled surroundings.
