1. Are you coming to the block party tonight? I really hope you are. The party is being thrown by SMC Louisville (of which I’m the vice president of) and Block5 (the company I work for). We’re having food, funnel cakes, live music, a cash bar and the Proof gelato cart.
2. Speaking of the Proof gelato cart. Because I love Consuming Louisville readers so much and Tuesdays are my designated “do good days” I’m buying gelato from the Proof gelato cart for the first 30 people who show up to the block party tonight. Yes, that’s right, free gelato for you if you’re one of the first 30 people at the party. It’s just my small way of saying thank you for being a Consuming Louisville reader.
3. A couple weeks ago I got an email from the nice folks at Mutual of Omaha asking if I would talk about Consuming Louisville for their “aha moment” campaign. I did and you can see the resulting video if you like.

Michelle,
I had totally planned on coming tonight but my wife’s schedule has changed and someone has to keep the kids from burning down the house. I’ll try to catch you the next time.
P.S. I still owe you that cupcake.

Michelle,
Really would like to attend this event, but as you know, the third Tuesday of the month is a regular gig for me. Next time for sure. And hopefully you’ll make dinner again soon.

Yep, if I don’t put it on my calendar I am doomed to forget it… Anyway, I was curious if you could tell (me at least) what it is that Block5 is working on…? (I’m a software engineer currently working for no one but myself if you need an excuse for the curiosity.)

Block5 is all about digital communication. The three areas that we’re primarily focused on right now are web app development, mobile app development (mostly iPhone apps at the moment) and QR code campaigns. Mix in a dash of traditional web design, a shake or two of social media and you’ve got the recipe for Block5.
