Ever Wanted to Check Out Mountain Bike Racing? Here’s Your Chance

Biking in Louisville

I got a tip from Ben Wilson about the Louisville MTB Short Track series that I wanted to share with you all.

Join us Thursday Evenings beginning May 28th for some exciting racing action at the FIRST ANNUAL Louisville MTB Short Track Series presented by Moots! Taking cue from the wildly popular weekly MTB short track series races in Portland, OR and Boulder, CO, we’ve decided it’s about time bike lovers in the area had a fun and affordable summer MTB short track series right here in the heart of Louisville.

The Louisville MTB Short Track Series is focused on making racing approachable and rewarding, whether you’re getting into mountain biking for the first time, want to fine tune your skills and fitness, or just want to cheer on the kids.
Registration: $5 for adults, free for kids

Here’s the important part: Racing is open to all ages and skill levels! That’s kind of exciting. If you’ve ever wanting to get your free wet in mountain biking then this is perfect, welcoming environment to do it in.

I love that we’re building a bike culture here that includes bike commuters, bike messengers (even though I’ma need that one bike messenger dude who rides the wrong way on Douglass Loop and then rides on the sidewalk to start obeying traffic laws!) and mountain biking. Good, good stuff.

I did this for the first time last week and it was a blast. Great crowd, laid back, fun times. I’m an experienced road and cyclocross racer, but this was my first mtb event. I’ll be back.
