Shiraz is continuing it’s rapid growth and eventual domination of the hearts and stomach of Louisville with another new location (to my count this will be the 5th Shiraz location). I got this tip from my aunt who lives in the neighborhood:
It looks like Shiraz is going to be opening a new location. I saw the sign just the other day. It is in a newly renovated shopping center in the 3500 block of Poplar Level Rd. (at Quarry Hill Rd.). This is about 1 block south of where Audubon Pkwy intersects Poplar Level. There was no date on the door, and they appear to be in the early to middle stages of preparation there.
This is of course great news. Shiraz has good food, is affordable and I think it will be a great addition to the Audubon neighborhood. That is what that neighborhood is called there right? According to wikipedia it is. If I’m wrong here somebody let me know. It will also be the closest Shiraz to my house which will of course make it my favorite Shiraz and rightly so.

I just needed to express once again how excited I am about this!! And it’s within walking distance of my house! I may need to get a part-time job…

It’s also occasionally called Camp Taylor, as well. I think you could get away with either…

Ah, Camp Taylor! Good to know, thanks Sean.

The neighborhood proper is call Poplar Level, it is bounded by Eastern Parkway to the north, Poplar Level road to the west, Newburg Road to the east, and Interstate 264 to the south. It is, though, a sub-neighborhood of Camp Taylor

Thanks for sharing this news. I live in this part of town. Despite the sluggish economy, a slew of new eateries have opened in the area in the last year or two. All appear to be doing very well. I believe this is due to the fact that between Bardstown Rd. and U of L, there are a lot of people and not many good restaurant options. I’m especially glad to hear we’re getting a local chain.
