Our friends at the Metro United Way are looking for volunteers.
Remember the fabulous group of people who volunteered in September 2008 to assist the elderly, homebound and disabled remove storm debris due to “Hurricane Ike” in September 2008? They were called the “Wind Warriors” and the handled over 900 phone calls and assisted over 623 households. They were true “hometown heroes!”
Well, we need to assemble a team of “Ice Warrior” volunteers due to the recent ice storm.
They spell out exactly what they’re looking for over on their blog but essentially they need three types of volunteers: phone bank workers, debris movers and people to donate money.
Which one of those three things are you going to do?

Thanks so much for helping to spread the word Michelle! I answered phones last night, and not only was it easy, it was rewarding to hear from all the people who are so grateful for the assistance.

Happy to do it Erin. I hope it nets you some additional volunteers. Please do let me know when you have future volunteer needs like this as well.
