“Pancakes, Paws & Santa Claus” is an infinitely better sounding event than “Cookies with Santa” but the Louisville Zoo must disagree as they’ve discontinued “Pancakes, Paws & Santa Claus” in favor of “Cookies with Santa.”
Join Santa Claus, his elves and some costumed friends for some warm cocoa, juice and donuts, cookie decorating for guests age 3 and older, holiday sing-alongs, a photo with Santa and a visit from Zoo animals like Mistletoe the reindeer. This special-ticketed event includes all-day Zoo admission.
Saturday & Sunday December 13 & 14 and 20 & 21, 2008
Ticket prices
2 and under Zoo Members $4.00, Non-Members $5.00
3 and over Zoo Members $9.50, Non-Members $12.50

“Cookies with Santa” was a horrible let-down. My family enjoyed the “Pancakes, Paws and Santa Claus” event last year, but this year’s scaled down version was horrible. The event was moved from the large African Outpost facility to the Gheen’s Room, a much smaller venue. We were cramped and hot. Last year’s event had a nice breakfast and lots of activities. This year we had 1 plain doughnut and cocoa, juice or water. The Juice and bottled water (donated by Coca Cola) were served warm. No ice/ No refrigeration.
The crafts and activities we enjoyed last year were axed this year.
My wife, myself and our three year old attended. It cost us thirty dollars all together. This is with our zoo members’ discount. My three-year-old was charged full price to get in. Big rip-off and huge disappointment. Next year we’re looking for somewhere else to go.
