On Saturday November 29, 2008 The Louisville Orchestra is presenting a very festive holiday concert that will also do some good for families in our community.
O Come, All Ye Faithful! The Louisville Orchestra has put together a holiday concert for the whole family to enjoy. On Saturday, November 29, 7 p.m. at the Brown Theatre, Jason Weinberger will lead the Louisville Orchestra in creating the holiday spirit with favorites such as “Greensleeves,” “Hanukkah Festival Overture” and “A Classical Christmas Suite.” By the end of the evening, the whole audience will be singing “Joy to the World” with the Louisville Youth Choir led by Terry E. Foster, Artistic/Executive Director.
For this very special concert, the Louisville Orchestra has teamed with Family & Children’s Place to make a difference. You can help make the holidays even brighter for over 200 families of Family & Children’s Place while enjoying the sounds of the season with the Louisville Orchestra. Bring an unwrapped new toy or piece of clothing to the King Southern Bank Holiday Spectacular concert on Saturday, November 29 at the Brown Theatre for one of the 500 children who will otherwise go without this season. Suggested gift items are available by visiting www.louisvilleorchestra.org. Plus, for every $15 ticket sold, a child in need will be able to attend the concert for free.
Tickets are only $15 and are available by calling 502-584-7777 or by logging on to www.louisvilleorchestra.org.

The Brown Theater
I have two pairs of tickets to give away to the concert. The catch is that for each free ticket you must bring a new, unwrapped toy from the Family & Children’s Place Wishlist to donate. So if you win a pair of tickets you need to bring two unwrapped, new toys to the concert. That’s an excellent deal where everyone wins.
To enter the contest just leave a comment or send an email. I’ll choose two random winners from the entries I receive by 10PM on Sunday November 23, 2008.

What an excellent idea! Combining the arts and charity in one event allows me to teach my kids a double lesson. Always glad to see these sorts of activities in the ‘Ville.

Christmas is for the children and the warmth and honor of giving them a gift is reward enough. Attending the concert would be wonderful, knowing a child smiles heavenly.
