Yes, yes, yes. Cafe Lou Lou Highlands (or Cafe Lou Lou at the Loop? Lou Lou Loop? I’m not sure of the preferred nomenclature yet) opened on Friday November 7, 2008. I didn’t make it on Friday but I did make it on Saturday. And it was good. I’ve already picked out the table I liked, let the server know to expect me as a regular and had my first calzone in the new location. So. Very. Pleased.
The menu has a few additions and subtractions from the St. Matthews menu. The dessert menu is abbreviated but includes a brand new creation but Marsha Lynch who may be my favorite dessert maker in town. And that’s say a lot because Louisville has some serious pastry talent. Anyway the new creation is called “The Devil’s in the Details Devil Food Chocolate Cake.” It’s described on the menu as “rich chocolate cake covered in chocolate cream cheese buttercream.” Sweet, sweet mercy.
Oh so sadly they didn’t have dessert service really up and running on Saturday so I wasn’t able to sample the new devilish creation. Woe is me. I guess I’ll just have to go back one day this week and try it the new cake.
That there to the right is my first calzone at the new Cafe Lou Lou in the Highlands. I just wanted to document it for you all.
