I debated long and hard about collecting any sort of demographic data
about Consuming Louisville’s readership but have decided to do so now. The reason I debated so much is that pretty much the only reason to collect
such data is to help attract, keep and work with advertisers. Much of my internal debate over collecting this data was whether or not that was a legitimate reason to ask you, the kind readers of Consuming Louisville, to share some information about yourselves. I have finally come to the conclusion that yes, it is a legitimate reason because a steady stream of non-offensive, non-intrusive advertising on this site would allow me to devote more time to Consuming Louisville and improve the site. Spending more time on Consuming Louisville in order to create better content and make it more of an asset for Louisville is a very important goal of mine. I hope you’ll think it’s an important goal as well.
The way I’m attempting to collect data is through a pretty painless survey. Random readers will see an option over in the sidebar to participate or if you’d like to participate and didn’t see the invitation you can follow this link. The survey is completely anonymous and completely optional but you will have my very sincere gratitude if you participate. It should take 5 minutes or less and isn’t too intrusive.
Again, the survey is absolutely anonymous and completing it is totally optional but I will really appreciate and be grateful to any of you who do choose to participate in it.
