I haven’t written about WorldFest because it’s been talked about just about everywhere else. I didn’t think you needed me to chime in. However I’ve just found out about an event at WorldFest that I’m giddy about so I have to talk about it: Coffee Cupping with a Master Roaster. You know how I love coffee. Heine Brothers and Breadworks at Douglass Loop and Highland Coffee at the Farmers Market get so much of my money it’s not funny, I need a coffee kickback or something. So an education session about roasting coffee and green practics in the coffee industry? Yes please.
“Join Java Brewing Company, Louisville’s own specialty coffee roaster, for the unique experience of cupping with a Master Roaster. Hear about “green” practices in the coffee industry while exploring taste perceptions with coffees grown around the world.
Comparative cupping and observation of on site coffee roasting with the original Frankfort Ave roaster will inspire a new found passion for coffee. Cultivate a deep comprehension for coffee origin and cultivating practices only obtainable through small group participation and live interaction.
Seating is limited. Sessions will occur rain or shine. Advanced ticket purchases available (recommended) on line at javabrewingco.com or stop by one of the 5 Java Brewing Company coffeehouses. All ticket proceeds are donated to helping the Louisville International Community. $15 tickets include comparative cupping tasting, roast observation, 12oz retail bag of coffee and $5 coupon for Java Brewing Company in store use.”
