There’s a really interesting photography event tonight at the Frazier Museum. It’s perfect for someone who loves both photography and American history. That is to say it’s absolutely perfect for me. Unfortunately I can’t attend as I’ll be at the July Social Media Club Louisville meeting.
On Tuesday, July 15 at 7 pm,
the Frazier Museum welcomes Sharon Farmer as she discusses the
challenges and opportunities afforded presidential photographers in Photographic Dreams and Realities: The Images of a Presidential Photographer. For more than 30 years, Ms.
Farmer has been a professional photographer and exhibition
photographer, shooting news stories, political campaigns, cultural
events, and more. For eight years, Sharon Farmer was the behind
the camera for the Clinton-Gore Administration, as well as the personal
photographer to former President Clinton and his family. Ms. Farmer
has been witness to history unfolding while capturing on film many of
the best known photos of the Clinton Administration. During her eight
years with the Clinton-Gore Administration, during three of those year,
Farmer served as Director of White House Photography.(FREE admission; the Frazier Museum opens at 5:30 pm for visitors to view Bobby, Martin and John: Once Upon an American Dream)
Speaking of Social Media Club, in addition to tonight’s outstanding event (are you attending? You really should be attending.) we’ll be having a Social Media Club happy hour next Tuesday evening, July 22, at Proof on Main from 5:30-7:30PM. Drink specials, interesting people and conversations about social media are on the agenda. That’s a fantastic way to end the work day people, fantastic. I expect to see you there.
