Earlier this week I spent a little time touring Flame Run Hotshop & Gallery on East Market. It’s a blown glass studio and gallery and I had my mind blown a little bit watching owners Brook and Susie White do their work. I’ve always had a bit of a thing for blown glass, B and I have a full small pieces, and in fact I just gave my mom a blown glass piece for her birthday. This was the first time though that I’ve seen the glass art creation process in action and it was awesome.
Flame Run offers visits to the studio, classes and during the holidays the big “make your own” ornament blow. The Flame Run gallery offers new shows regularly and normally has an opening to coincide with the gallery hop. I don’t have all the details yet on the August show opening but I’ll share them as soon as I get them.

My wife won a piece from Flame Run at a charity auction recently. Besides making wonderful art glass pieces, everyone I’ve met there has also been extremely friendly. I highly recommend that everyone walk or ride to the end of Market Street and check them out during the next gallery hop.
