Jefferson Memorial Forest: Evening Program – Insects

June 06, 2008

Nature, Outdoors, Parks

I confess to you that I don’t make it to nearly enough of the Jefferson Memorial programs that I tell you about. That is a weakness of my character. I’ve got to tell you though that I just love knowing these programs are out there. I love that our Metro Parks department is doing such cool stuff.

I particularly dig the sound of this event because it’d help answer that “what was that noise?” question I ask so often in summer.

The night is the best time to hear the
symphony of sound created by insects. Forest staff will introduce you
to some of the creatures responsible for the variety of sounds you hear
through your window on a warm summer night.

Program meets in the Horine.

Reservations are required in advance.

Fee: $8
Friday June 13, 2008
7:00PM- 9:30PM

I went last year. If there are kids there it may not be what you hope. The kids have a way of taking over.
