How awesome is this? So very awesome. What is it? It’s an intro to canoeing course at Jefferson Memorial Forest. The class is a super deal at $10 a person and all equipment is provided. All you have to do is show up in appropriate clothing with your own brown bagged lunch. Know what’s not so awesome? That’s this is scheduled for Derby day. The thought process behind scheduling this for Derby day requires greater logic than I possess. Thus far I haven’t seen any additional classes on Jefferson Memorial’s calendar so I guess I’m out of luck.
Learn the basics of equipment, paddling strokes, and rescues for canoeing. We will practice rescues, so plan on getting wet.
