This is a totally unsolicited testimonial for Louisville Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Services. They just did such a good job I want to tell people about it. Last week our miniature poodle got quite ill. She was in absolutely horrible pain and our normal vet wasn’t equipped to deal with the situation. She told us that we needed to take our dog to Louisville Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Services, a kind of animal emergency room.
Before this situation we didn’t actually have a specific emergency vet in mind in case Grace ever needed it but without question if we ever need an emergency vet in Louisville again we’ll definitely be going to LVSES. It’s all the way out in Middletown but it’s absolutely worth the drive.
Honestly, I can’t say enough nice things about the folks at LVSES. The vet techs and reception staff are incredibly friendly and the vets themselves are amazing. They’re very patient and accommodating to crazy dog people (um, like me) who are extremely concerned about their pets. Our dog actually ended up needing an extended stay in the hospital. The vet we mostly dealt with gave us regular updates, answered all of our questions and took all of our calls and stayed in touch with us day and night. She was absolutely amazing and we can’t thank her enough for the great care she gave to Grace. We were allowed to visit whenever we wanted and were never made to feel as though we were too needy or overbearing. It was the best possible experience for an absolutely horrible situation.
Besides our personal needs LVSES is just cool to keep in mind for pet owners in general. They have an animal ophthalmologist, a rehab specialist and an exotic pet specialist on staff. They also have some alternative medicine treatments like acupuncture available as well. This is in addition to being a teaching hospital that focuses on dealing with emergencies and serious illnesses.
